ABOUT ME

I grew up in the Driftless Region of Wisconsin, surrounded by bluffs, lakes, the Mississippi, and endless acres of forestry and marshlands. As an illustrator, this connection to the natural world has translated into inspiration for character designs and can be seen as a motif throughout much of my work.
I was diagnosed with type one diabetes at the age of eight, and struggled with that and several other chronic illness. Additionally, I’m apart of the LGBTQ community. For these reasons, representation showing characters overcoming (and sometimes struggling with) disability, chronic illness, and adversity due to sexual orientation and gender identity are an integral part of my character design process and other works.
